Bolivia D'Montaña
CENAPROC continues to impress with Bolivia D'Montaña, particularly as a dark roast which is sweet, rich, and smooth providing both a hint of the carbon flavor common to dark roasts and a hint of caramel. It also makes a nice mild espresso.
CENAPROC is a Bolivian cooperative with 85 member families located just northeast of Caranavi. Members cultivate 760 hectares between 1400 and 1700 meters above sea level. The coffee (Typica and Caturra varieties) is grown under the shade of Inga edulis species and natural barriers are used to prevent soil erosion. It is processed by the washed proces with a combination solar and mechanical drying. The cooperative has distinguished itself by winning or placing highly in Bolivian coffee competitions.
Fair Trade Certified Bolivia D'Montaña is currently available in both medium and dark roasts for $10.00 per pound.
