Federação dos Cafeicultores do Cerrado recently organized a tour of coffee farms and cooperatives in the Cerrado coffee growing region of Brazil for a select group of North American coffee roasters. This gallery contains a selection of photos and videos taken at some of the stops on this tour.
In 2009 there was a conference in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia on the future of Ethiopian Harar coffee. This was happening at a very interesting time for Ethiopian coffees in general as Ethiopia was in the process of switching from an auction system to a modern commodity exchange. This gallery contains photos taken in and around Dire Dawa and Harar during this trip.
Coffee production is a lengthy and complex process, but most of the work involved happens before the coffee exits the country it was grown in. This collection of photographs taken in El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua illustrates the work that goes into the coffee we buy.
