As promised earlier, several new coffees have been ordered and are on the way. Some of these are new coffees that we have not carried before or origins we are bringing back. Others make up a new supply of coffees we still have.
I really enjoyed the sample of Rwandan coffee, so that has been ordered. We are also bringing in a decaffeinated coffee from East Timor. Tanzanian Peaberry is coming back and a little later we will be getting some decaffeinated Fair Trade Mexican coffee.
Brazil Prima Qualita was not available, but another Brazil Santos was. A bag of Papua New Guinea that is not Fair Trade Certified is on its way, but we have a position on more that is when it becomes available. A new decaffeinated Brazil will also arrive soon.
More Colombian Excelso Narino del Abuelo is on its way along with more Costa Rican La Minita. The La Minita was not ordered because we will need it in the very near future, but because we suspect that by the time we do need it, it will be unavailable until the new crop arrives.
New lots of regular and decaf Sumatra Mandheling have recently been cupped. These continue to be very good. I am roasting the decaffeinated Sumatran a little lighter than the previous lot. Trying to make decaffeinated espresso with this new decaf Sumatran resulted in something with excellent initial flavor, but the mouthfeel was too watery. Eliminating Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and increasing the amount of Sumatran and French Roast used produced a very good decaffeinated espresso.
